Iran actor dedicates APSA award to earthquake victims

Iranian actor Navid Mohammadzadeh has dedicated his Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) prize to the victims of the recent earthquake in Kermanshah Province, western Iran.

Mohammadzadeh received the special mention award at the 11th edition of APSA, which was held in the Australian city of Brisbane on Thursday, November 23, for his performance in Vahid Jalilvand’s ‘No Date, No Signature’.

Mohammadzadeh dedicated the award to the victims of the recent earthquake in Kermanshah Province, western Iran, which struck villages and towns last week.

The 7.3-magnitude earthquake killed hundreds and injured thousands more people.

Jalilvand’s movie, produced by his brother Ali, stars Hediyeh Tehrani, Amir Aqaei, Saeed Dakh, Alireza Ostadi and Mohammadzadeh.

The movie narrates the story of Kaveh Nariman, a doctor who works at the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization. He has to examine the corpse of someone that he used to know in the past.

The 11th edition of APSA also honored late-great Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami with a special Artistic Acknowledgement.

Covering one-third of the Earth, the 70 countries and areas of the Asia Pacific stretches from Egypt in the west to the Cook Island in the east, from Russia in the north to New Zealand in the south.
